Creamy Tomato Parmesan Sauce
- 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 1/4 tsp minced garlic
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes with juice
- 3/4 tsp sugar
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- Melt butter in sauce pan over medium heat. Stir in garlic/onion and cook until onion turns translucent, 2 min.
- Pour in diced tomatoes and sugar.
- Increase heat to medium high and bring to simmer.
- Reduce heat to medium low and continue simmering for 10 min and stir.
- Stir in cream and season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for an additional 3 minutes.
- Add 1:1 cornstarch/water mixture to thicken sauce if needed.
- Serve over pasta.
