Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken


  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 soy sauce
  • 1-2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  1. Dissolve 1/3 cup sugar in 1/2 cup soy sauce and 1-2 tsp sesame oil
  2. Add 2-3 cloves grated garlic and 1 tbsp grated ginger.


Marinate chicken in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Remove from marinade and fry in 1/2 tbsp oil per chicken piece. Brown on each side, add marinade and simmer while covered till cooked through. If chicken is skinless, remove from marinade, then reduce to a glaze.

Serve over rice.


Don’t use chicken breasts for this, they come out dry as hell. Thighs with the skin and bone in are optimal.
